Bettina Unger was born in 1968 and was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1991. While doing her PhD she met the Italian Sandro in Berlin and moved in with him. She spent two years working as a research fellow before becoming involved at LIFE e.V. in Berlin in projects for the qualification of women.
