Matthias Matussek, born in 1954, first worked for the Berliner Abend and Stern before joining the Spiegel team as the correspondent in New York, Berlin, Rio de Janeiro and London. In 2005 he returned to the head office, where he was in charge of the cultural affairs section until 2008. He now writes for the weekly magazine and as a video blogger for Spiegel online.
