A delightful parable about friendship, curiosity and the thirst for adventure
Actually, life in the hidden witches' wood is wonderful. Witch children have a lot of freedom and only have to go to school when they feel like it, quite apart from the fact that flying around on a witch's broomstick is such huge fun.
Yet Ida, the little witch, wants more! She is full of curiosity and is so excited when one day she meets a little boy from the world of humans. Niklas tells Ida of some incredible things – of coaches that travel underground, or of little boxes in which people can be heard talking although they are a long way away. Ida, of course, would love to see all these things with her very own eyes! So the little witch sets off on an adventurous journey of discovery to the world of humans, during which she never ceases to be amazed. Niklas and Ida have to survive lots of adventures before the little witch can go back to the witches' wood.
