Mobile phone, dish washer, coffee machine – when nothing works as it should
There used to be a time when a toaster was no more than a toaster; a telephone was for telephoning; and coffee came out of a simple coffee filter machine – and it always did whenever you wanted some. Today, thanks to the all-encompassing digitalisation and growing technologization of our lives, everything is supposed to be better, simpler and more convenient than ever before. But if you take a closer look, you can't help but notice one thing: nothing works! At least, not as common sense would expect it to. In fact, modern technology basically solves the problems it itself previously caused. As a result, useless charging cables and adapters pile up in our basements, and in everyday life we are being terrorized by smartphones, social networks and wilful kitchen gadgets. In the end we are left wondering one thing: was life in caves really all that bad?
