Deep down in the ice lies our future – and the greatest danger
A secret research centre on one of the islands in the polar sea is attacked and destroyed. At the same time, a plane carrying the scientific elite of Russia and the USA crashes near the island. There are no survivors.
A few weeks later, playboy Espen Terjesen has an accident near Paris. A press photo of the accident shows the scientist Nasdja Paragina next to Terjesen – but she is supposed to have been killed in the plane crash. When the two of them later book a Hurtigruten cruise on the Trollfjord, German spies Torsten Renk and Henriette von Tarow are given the task of keeping the couple under surveillance. No sooner have Renk and Henriette gone aboard the ship disguised as tourists than they notice other spies from various different intelligence services. All this effort just for industrial espionage? Then Renk and Henriette find out that the ship has had explosive charges fixed to it – and they know that it is a matter of life and death…
