Florian Opitz was born in 1973 and is a documentary film director, author and journalist. After studying history, psychology and English and American literature, he has been making documentary films for various television channels in Germany and Europe since 1998. The documentary The Big Sellout was his cinema debut, and for it he was awarded the Adolf Grimme Prize.
