Jon Lee Anderson (geb. 1957) ist als Autor und Journalist u.a. tätig für The New Yorker, die New York Times, Harper's, Life und The Nation für die er aus weltweiten Kriegs- und Krisengebieten, wie Afghanistan, Irak, Uganda, Israel, El Salvador, Irland, Libanon, Iran und dem Nahen Osten berichtet. International bekannt wurde er durch seine Politikerporträts von Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro und Augusto Pinochet; zahlreiche Buchveröffentlichungen, u.a. Guerrillas: Journeys In the Insurgent World (1992), Che Guevara: A Revolutionary Life (1997), The Fall of Baghdad (2004).
