On the drama of writing a drama
This books looks from two points of view at the way theatre plays come into being. First of all, from within, from the standpoint of an author who writes stage plays and for years has been working as a dramatic adviser; and then from without, from the standpoint of a publisher's editor who for years has been working together with authors writing for the theatre.
The ideas laid out here are all based on first-hand experience and attempt to describe and understand what happens when an author starts thinking about scenes, dialogues, characters and entrances and exits.
This book is the first of its kind to take a serious look at these questions – a must for all play writers, enthusiastic theatre-goers and all literature lovers.
