Most of you know about the exhibition in the V&A "Christian Dior, designer of Dreams", officially on show till July 14 and not a single entrance ticket available anymore. A little bird whispered in my ear however that there is talk about extending it until September. I wonder if this exhibition is going to get more visitors then "Christian Dior: Créateur de rêves" in Paris 2017. The spectacle attracted 700.000 visitors and was the best-visited exhibition of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in the 112 year history of the institute.
For those of you who can't visit and have to make do with a book, I recommend "Zeitlose Eleganz" by Jérôme Gautier. A dream of a coffee table book with 304 pages and 170 photographs of leading fashion photographers like Richard Avedon, Cecil Beaton, Patrick Demarchelier, Horst P. Horst, and Tim Walker to name a few. The best photo for me is the one made by Patrick Demarchelier from 2011 of a model wearing "Esther" by Dior 1953. This dress is now in the collection of the V&A and shown in the ballroom at the end of the exhibition. I'm only thinking and reading about "DIOR" at the moment. love D'Artagnan.
